I adore Martha. I DVR Julia Child. I tear through Real Simple like I am a refugee at the last rice drop. I can concoct dinner from my typically well-stocked pantry, and I rarely use a recipe.
I knit and crochet poorly, sew sporadically and sometimes dust. I tried to make things out of paper once like Martha, and made little wads of paper. Unlike Julia Child, I do not have friendly relations with my fishmonger.
As for the name of this blog, well, it’s going to be about where my husband, baby John, Conrad Bain the dog and I (and who ever else comes along) live. Doh’ – from the favorite expression of chagrin by Homer Simpson – seemed to describe everything pretty well.
